A company’s capitalization table—cap table for short—shows allocated equity in the company as well as the available incentive pool.

- **What does a cap table show?**  
Your company’s cap table shows:
  - **Stockholders**  
Who owns stock in the company and what percentage they hold. This information shows the economic and voting interests of your stockholders.  
  - **Issued stock**  
How many shares of stock have been issued to date, who to, and the price per share.
  
- **How do I create a cap table on SeedLegals?**  
Go into SeedLegals and go to Shares.  
There’s built-in guidance but if you need any help, hit the chat button to message our team.
  
- **Do I pay per stockholder on my cap table?**  
No, paying more for more stockholders makes no sense. With SeedLegals, you can add unlimited stockholders to your cap table, at no extra cost.
  
- **When does my cap table need to be updated?**  
The cap table needs to reflect any changes to your company’s equity composition. For example, after:
  - new stock is issued as part of a funding round  
  - restricted stock or stock options are issued to a team member
  - stock options are exercised or cancelled after a termination (if you’ve granted options)
  - stock transfers

- **Is there a limit to how many stockholders I can have on my cap table?**

- **How do I export data from my SeedLegals cap table?**  
To download the information in your SeedLegals cap table, click the three dots menu (top left) and then:
  - Select **Export share register** to download a PDF, or  
  - Select **Export cap table** to download a CSV
